starting problem

I have a '89 mr2 with the 1600cc, (not supercharged), and it won't stay running, most the time it will not start and when it does start it runs really bad and only for about 30 seconds. I know it is getting gas and getting good spark but can't figure it out. It was running fine and then put it up in garage for about 3 months and just doesn't want to run. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you check all the ignition components to make sure they're in good shape? Check to make sure a squirrel didn't bed down in your air filter?

All the ignition components are fine, and most are new and the air filter is fine. I have also cleaned the injectors and replaced with new o-rings.

3 months isn't that long sitting however, if you have good spark in "all" the cylinders, good air flow and getting fuel. "I" would next check the fuel condition. You could have got water mixed with the gas from condensation build-up. This can happen if tank left low on gas. I would also check the throttle body ports/hoses/vaccume lines.....then sensors

Or your exhaust.. When i had my civic I had it at a friends barn for the winter. its started poorly then as i went to rev it up a bunch of mess came out the back.. a nest of some kind in my skunk 2 exhaust....
