Insurance

How much are you turbo guys paying for insurance a month? Im trying to calculate if I can afford it per month before I even get one. Im 18 with a ticket, but have no points due to traffic school attendance, and an accident that I wasnt at fault, so Im pretty sure I can expect to really pay out of my chute.

It wasnt intentional. I had noticed a spelling error and pressed the stop button in my browser to correct it, and when I had submitted it, it created both posts. My apologies.

18yr old w/ ticket and a MR2 turbo=$$$ my guess would be about $120.00/mo ...especially if that was a speeding ticket... PM Trace, she's an insurance agent. if you're real nice, she might give you a good idea...

When, I searched progressive for free quotes, a mr2 turbo was about 3400//6 months and a camry was like 3000.

Also, I put the insurance under my name, and not my parents so it would probably be cheaper.

I pay 60 a month now for my Integra, so Im trying to guess how much I would have to pay. My insurance is under my parents name, and we get a discount for being long time customers etc... My speeding ticket doesnt count against my record because I went to traffic school for it.

I've had my car broken into twice in the last 4 years and the second time they got over $2k worth of stuff(was moving). I'll never go without comprehensive again.

Theft doesnt mean that much to me because it IS a slim change it will get stolen, and I take the precautionary measures to make sure it doesn't (Well I do now anyways) I dont need theft coverage because I have a few 2's laying around my yard for parts, but since this is a car Im buying with my own money and not my parents money, I should probably do so.

No way for comprehensive. Especially with a ticket and age 18 and a turbo car.

90 dollars a month would be like 600 dollars per half year.

Although it is older, because its turboed, the insurance will still be pretty high. 800 dollars semi-annually gets a 16 yr old driver full coverage for a accord/camry. According to my free progressive quote, a older turboed mr2 has higher insurance than that of an accord//camry. Therefore, I highly doubt that it will be only 600 dollars per half year. I have never been quoted, but I would be amazed to see that it is below 1000 dollars to insure.

so you think it would be more for him? thats would suck!.. I pay about $80.00/mo with 1 speeding ticket-70mph in 55. for full coverage. but I'm much older and have 3 vehicles for the multi car discount..

I don't have a real quote, But if he can get it that cheap, that is a steal.

The thing w/ you is, that you are older and your rates go down to my knowledge every 3 years. He probably hasn't hit his 3rd year yet and especially as a "young" driver with a ticket, I don't see it being only 600 semi annually for full coverage. That price sounds like it'd be liability.

Edit: I'm just curious, How much is the multi-car discount? And it should probably also apply if your family has 3 cars correct?
