Question Problly a really dumb boost question.

Ok so I am looking at this ats ct27 upgrade and thinking its just what i need. I am looking to run 300 hp and i would be happy. They have a kit that basicly says ct27 turbo at 17 psi with 3inch dp, exhaust, boost controler, intake, remaped ecu and fuel pres reg should bring out about 300-330 hp or so. i think im right so far now my question is like this....
is this going to be a reliable setup to run this as a daily driver?
With a turbo such as a ct27 if 17 psi is a bit much to have all the time then will the turbo run poor at lower boost levels like at 12 psi? and what is involved with having say 2 settings say a safe 10-12 psi boost setting and a sunday drive 17 psi setting.. is this a matter of fliping a switch on the boost controler or is there more involved with changing the boost this much? As you can tell im still learning the tuning aspect of turbos... ohh yeah and will the stock bov work for this or am i going to need a hks ss or somthing i have heard people say keep the stock bov if possible...

turbo will be fine, the engine may not though. yes changing boost is as simple as a boost controller or dual stage bleed valve. stock boc will be fine. you wont even be touching that.

you should probably just tune up yacurretn engine, hi flow the ct26 (hi flowig it will loose a bit of bottom end but whatevers lost there is gained on boost in quadiple the amount) and make the same power reliably as well. you can do it with jut a boost increase but yeah, im more conserned for the engine, no tthe turbo.

i'm pretty sure the test car that made 300rwhp had a built motor..and EMS....the ct-27 is capable of making that power but it will require extensive supporting mods and tuning...

yeah mrq is right. If you want a good reliable 300 whp, your best bet is the ATS td05 or td06 kit. The ct27 can hit 300, but it'll take a lot more.

And we all know when you hit 300 you are going to want more, and the previously listed turbos will give you some leeway.

CT27 and CT20B are both known to hit 300

but if you wanna go cheap just take it to 260ish whp

then you can have stock motor, stock ecu, stock fuel system.. that ll save a ton of money

if you want more.. go for a TD06.. even though the spool is quite slow.. the CT20B has insane fast spool up...

i think you should do this if you are happwy with around 260ish whp

CT20B, 3" DP, some kind of free flow intake, upgraded intercooler (greddy, spearco),
consider also
fidenza flywheel, spec clutches stage 2...
