'87 Mr2 or '92 Prelude Automatic?

Which car you guys think it's faster?, the '87 Mr2 stick shift, or a '92 DOHC Prelude automatic (front wheel drive)

Friend wants me to race his prelude for $100. =P Should I take his money ? or will he take mine?

not street racing , this will be legal on track. maybe 1/4th or 1/8th

i would go for the 87 mr2. but if you want to make sure its faster than the honda look into a 88 or 89 supercharged mr2. and yes the prelude prolly will beat the mr2 but the mr2 kicks so much more @$$

automatics suck

funy thing is that in 1988 the MkI MR2 SC held the world record of fastest 0-30 mph...
if you're talking racing, it's almost always going to boil-down to the driver. i could really care less about drag racing, but do what you like. i'd take the bet if it were me driving on a road course...

Yea I wish I had the SC version I wouldn't think twice, but I think the prelude has more torque than my Mr2........
I'm guessing that it would prob eat my dust on take off and then 2nd gear, but then the prelude will pass me.

Hmmmmmmmm

it prolly will beat you, so my advice start saving for a sc or turbo duece
dont accept the bet and just put that 100$ to a new car.

Well, guess what I beat that guy, too bad it was no bets... mr2driver...I didn't take your advice haha, I beat that accord....and I beat him with my clutch slipping in 2nd gear too...new goal this year to beat a corvette, of course I will be spending thousands on a new mr2 engine I just got from my other mr2 at the shop. I am thinking of going for a 20 valve engine and selling that other mr2 at the shop...any takers? =P

I owned a white one (not a shock on the color if you have ever lived in Japan). It was a zippy grocery getter, though the car seat fit was a bit tight
