91 N/A ,thermostat?

Hi guys! there is the thing. the motor runs nice and worm in town, but on the freeway the gauge drop down to the lowest point. I'm pretty shore that it's thermostat stuck on open . Just were is he located? On the passenger side next to oil filter? If so, then how to take the bottom nut out? Is there any angle extension I need, or any other ideas? One more thing, were to get a book for 91 N/A? Tnx!

holly crap. I busted all sides of that nut , even took the compressor out. It just don't want to get loose. tried wisecrips but I'm in a deep shit. If I cut the nut off, can I replace the pin?
I just so not in to drive my legacy again

If the nut is destroyed and you can't get it loose you should be able to use a nut-splitter on it. I know you can get 'em at Checker.

-^ I shave 2 opposite sides with the file, then took wise grips , squeeze it with two hands and then tap it with my hand. Took me 3 days ( 3 hours each day) to get that sucker out. At this time I had oil filter out, oil dip stick out , compressor and pulley out too But for future if anybody have the same problem, just take oil filter out and get it with small 10mm ratchet. And in bad case stud is not glued, so it's coming off easy.

Ok I got almost the same problem , cept my engine heats up and stays warm but takes about 20 minutes to warm up so I`m guessing the thermostat is stuck in the open position ! Still nobody said exactly where it is . Up high , , down low , , , near side , , off side ? is there somewhere where I can download a schematic or poss pdf to show me how to find it ?

any help would be greatly apreaciated
