3SGTE swap or 3SGE

Yes, I'm new here, and I had a few questions. I've been a big fan of the MR2 and I've owned a 91 MR2 Turbo for just over a year before the hurricane destroyed it, and now I currently own a 92 MR2 N/A. I always wanted to swap a gen3 into my gen2 MR2, so I knew what work is necessary for that, and also looked into it for N/A to Turbo. My question is, is it worth getting the 3SGE? I was thinking of trying to make this car mean with only motor, no bolt on turbo, and from what I understand the 3SGE is the nonturbo version of the 3SGTE.

With that being said, I was wondering if you can take 3SGTE cams, camshafts, pistons, ect. and put them on the 3SGE along with the 5SFE headers and downpipe. From what I've gotten out of reading a few threads here, the 3SGE can take parts from the 5SFE but I wasn't sure if it could use any from the 3SGTE.

I'm not looking to produce some INSANE amount of horsepower at the moment, I just want to make my new N/A faster than what it is now...So is it worth getting the 3SGE and if so can I use the turbo engines parts? OR should I just get the 3SGTE and do the motor swap?

Input is greatly appreciated, Thanks!

I know that some disagree with me but upgrading the NA engine isn't worth it imo. When you look at both projects on a similar budget you'll end up getting a much more satisfactory result with a swap than you will with upgrading the NA.

When you start talking about converting an NA engine into a turbo you get into an even higher budget project for lower reliablility motor and you still have less power available unless you go completely over the top.

A turbo engine will always make more power for less money.
