Hey guys, I dont normally venture into the mr2 forum, but ive always loved them.
I recently found a 1992 Mr2 (n/a) for 2,500$, it has 77,000 miles, and it is a manual transmission, And I would like to go check this car out, but I dont know what to look for in terms of wear, and things that go wrong, so what are some things I should look for when looking at this mr2 if the guy e-mails me back. Also, How hard is it to convert a n/a mr2 to turbo?

it'll be a lot easier to just get a turbo to begin with. You'll be looking at at least 5k for the motor, work, and misc. parts. That's 7500 right there inclduding the price you initially pay. But if you do the swap yourself and get a full rear clip, it might come out cheaper. It'll still be a hassle imo.
I can help you with teh swap as well, or go with you to check it out or something. And if you want to ride in a relatively stock turbo after the na and see the difference, let me know, I don't think you're that far away from me (westminster/emmitsburg).
register on www.mr2oc.com and check out the buyers guide in the general mr2 discussion section. You'll find most of your questions there.

Thanks for that site man, and the offer to go with me to check it out, thats something that always gets me about these forums, people you dont even know, just coming together, and always willing to help another guy out. But the reason Im so interested in this, is because I only have about 3k to put out on something, and this caught my eye seeing as Mr2's are very nice tunable cars. Also, are there turbo kits for N/a mr2's?
Edit- btw, is that you on myspace with the white mr2?

well it does seem like a deal for the mileage it has and all. Really depends on the condition. There are turbo kits for the na's but you aren't going to get a whole lot out of them unless you sink a lot of money into it. A mr2 is a fun car, turbo or not. And further down the road you can always debate about a swap.
And yeah that's me with the white mr2

but yeah i was in the same spot you are now. I was choosing between a 240 and a mr2.
Thanks too.
How close is Elkton to Columbia? We have big car meets in Columbia every month. Since it's winter we won't be having any, but as soon as spring rolls around we will have more.
