5sfe/tranny cable

Hey guys, this queston is for anyone who has dropped a 5sfe before. There is a "cable" line running from the front of the car to somewhere on the transmission. It definitely seems like a "cable", and it mounts straight down on top of the transmission towards the rear trunk area. It is down in there and I cannot see what kind of connecter it is, ie bolt, clip, nut, what? I have a feeling it may be the speedo reading, but I wanted to confirm that with the MR2 5sfe geniuses here. If you know what cable I am talking about (it's the only one on that side of the tranny) please let me know how to take it off, seeing as I cannot see it from under or top of the car, and it is the last thing I need disconnected before I can drop the POS and get the new 3sfe in (just to daily drive it). Thnx for any help.

You're right, it is the speedo cable. You remove it at the threaded part, not the bolt. I helped a friend drop his tranny yesterday and when I took the speedo cable off I had to use a pliars to get it started.

You should be able to see it on the rear side of the tranny from the top. It's a pretty sizable cable that almost looks like a hose that leads up to the firewall and underneath the car. I took it off by lying under the car and reaching around the crossmember to put a pliars on it by feel.
