AW11 engine siezure

hey guys,

I've owned my 1988 Mr2 for about a month now and the engine has siezed itself on me!

What id my best course of action? I'd really like to take this opportunity to up the power significantly while its int eh workshop. would a 2L turbo one from the bathurst edition or something like that fit in? I hope so..

Anybody have any exp[erience with this? what other engines can fit in, what about reboring the block ii have and going some larger pistons or something.

Somebody provide me with some alternatives, cos this is rlly sucky having my car off the road.

Cheers Guys

well, yes the MkII Turbo engine will fit in there, however, it's not a 'plug-n-play' (God I hate that crap!) drop-in. there are many modifications to make it work. not trying to discourage you, but it's a pretty daunting task to someone without the facilities both physical and materially. there are so many options such as another 4AG-E a 4AGZ-E a 20V 4AG-E...

Have you pulled the sparkplugs out and attempted to spin? You may only have a warped head or blown gasket.

To toyota tech geek.

As far as cost is concerned, which do you think will be best, and as far as power is concerned which do you think would be best.

What kjind of modifications am i looking at to get eh MkII turbo engine in there? and work changing the shape/size of the engine bay? what about the intercooler? or is it just repositioning and fastening engine mounts?

to Tercel GTS.

Sorry dude, I got no idea how to do any of that, i just said oh shit when i couldn't clutch start it and i couldn;t turn ther starter motor over and sent it to my local mechanics and said its broken.

Thats about my knowledge extent in fixing cars, i just enjoy driving it.

i have to be honest with you: if you can't do what Tercel GTS mentioned, you WON'T be ab;e to do an engine swap. sorry. yes, it (a MkIIT swap) will require lots of fabrication let alone knowledge in setting-up suspension and lots of money.
