what goin on mr2 lovers? i also own a 91 sw20 n/a mr2. i bought the car roughly a year anda bit ago. its the love of my life. i really havent got the chance to ride her because of some issuses we hand i still have to over come. lience to be exact. but still i road her. i bought the car even though i figured out a lot of problems needed to be looked at. for example/ when i 1st took her out. everthing seemed fine, egine wise. body work was done to her, and a new paint job was also done. shes now black instead of red. they were both nice colours. neways, as i was drivin her, i noticed at high rpm black smoke came out after driving perfect. i was also buying oil for her as if she was drinking it like coronas. so the oil pan was fixed. another mayjor problem that was happenin was that my gas pendal kept getting jamed but fixed that issuse. which was cuased because of my intake butterfly valve was constintly being shut closed. all because of a simple tiny 3 milimeter bolt wiggling off. this cause my car to constintly being shut off everytime i turned her on. hours n days were wasted. another mayjor problem was that, again at high rpm, roughly around 4000 it would cut off. not die but just couldnt run over 4000 rpm and i havent test drove her since ive added da new alternator.one things for sure, it starts hard everytime. ive added a new alternator, radiator, ngk platium spark plugs, high performance exhaust system made from nickel. i still havent got my infinity tweeters in or my "el cucaracha" horn. i bought the car with 18" lexani crome rims. i still need to add my fuel filter,exhuast manifold gasket, and my cat. im exsited but at the same time im a little concerned on my sw20 engine. they say u can make any n/a engine into a fire breathing dragon. its all about the AFR. im a half way machanic and i just need a little bit of feed back on what other mr2 lovers think. any info on my mr2 issuses can be helpful and sorry about the slang. thanks
