It would not rattle "against" the sensor, but it could set the sensor off.

I think that is whats happening the exaust pops againts the tin on the manifold sounding like a ping or knock and I think the sensor picks it up thinking it is detonation, that maybe the reason I am not boosting! Would you agree.

That sounds kinda far-fetched to me. Of course no one on a forum could say for sure one way or the other.

I'm pretty sure thre is no tin in the exhaust manifold

I would buy that the exhaust leak is triggering knock response,
but I am skeptical that is your boost issue. Depending on how
bad an exhaust leak is, it can drastically affect performance all
on it's own ~ especially if the leak is pre-turbo.

What exactly are you expereincing?

ok found the noise problem mabey the boost also.....yesterday i went to check if I removed the tin on top of the exaust manifold would do anything.....I found that the flange nuts from the pimary manifold and the turbo were missing and or finger tight...gasket is still intact.....after replacing them on the car noise gone but still low boost....wiuld you think i would have to reset the cpu since this has been happening for so long???

It is not uncommon for those bolts to work there way out.
It's good to check them regularly.
I think the heat shield is aluminum, not tin.

If you resolved the exhaust leak there and you are sure everything is good and tight ... and you still have boost issues, something else is amiss. It will not hurt to reset the ECU, but I doubt it will change anything.

everything is working fine...I read boost on the factory gauge till about the last bar but the aftermarket autometer guage only reads about 2 bars[2lbs]....???i'm at a loss,do you recommend anything? it just dosen't feel like it is boosting either. I can hear the bypass valve working and the turbo but not as long as it should.
