What size turbo?

I have a 2nd gen 3sgte and was wondering what size turbo people are using to get to 350+ hp? I want a turbo with the least amount of lag that can get me to 350+ hp. Thanks for the help.

EDIT: as posted above, ATS racing is very capable of helping you out, and there is a TON of useful information on www.mr2oc.com

i plan on buying a T3/T4 and my mechanic gave me a green light to do mods to my car (my engine is in a very good condition) so what should i do to my engine before the turbo upgrade, I know i will have to change fuel pump,IC,Injectors and gasoline regulator .Any other stuff i have to change and just in case i can get my car set-up at a dyno.and is it a good idea to put such a powerfull turbo in stock engine ??THX!!

actually unless there is like 400,000 miles on the engine 350whp is just fine on stock internals...

as for the turbo, I chose the CT27 because its capable of 350+rwhp, and at the same time spools just as fast as the stock turbo with less lag, and holds the boost all the way to the redline.

just switching out the stock ct26 with the ct27 and addin gno other upgrades, the turbo produced nearly 40 more whp. that speaks very highly of a turbo that bolts right up to the stock parts and requires no other mods to work.

^^i wouldn't bet on making that kind of power with the ct-27....even with EMS....300rwhp is a stretch IMO...good luck with this..

found this on the main board....this setup is similar to what you want to end up with...its nowhere near 350rwhp...ct-27 is way too small...

This is the best advice on this thread so far. How many Mr2's with stock internals are being fixed or not working. Realistically if you want that kind of power you are better off re-building it especially if you are going to drive it every day.

I drive my MR-2 once a week only sundays and is often like 10 mile trip to the beach or to the drag strip so is not my daily driver i have a 05 corolla for that reliable as hell. But yeah i would have to re-build my engine just in case but how much will it cost??My engine is in good condition so what is the best thing to do i have already change all the seals ( all turbo seals,Wastegate and header. not engine).Thx

My suggestiont to you would be to keep the motor you have now exactly the way it is. Purchase your self another 3SGTE motor for cheap, like a blown one. Build that one up this way you can still drive your Mr2 around until your new motor is ready. Keep the one you took off with everything on it do not part it out for any reason.. This way you can allways put it back in if need it to be.

I can get a 3 year used 3s-gte for $1,500 with turbine and 1,000 without. So i was planning on doing that.BUt i have the corolla i just could take the MR-2 engine out and build it.I think i could be ok without driving my 2 for like 3 months( I hope) .

Are you dropping a 3SGTE into a rwd corolla? Where are you getting your motor from?
