i found out i have a code 52 today which is the knock sensor
wussup everyone i just reinstalled my turbo [ct26 hybrid] t04e compressor housing a/r 50 with a 60trim compressor and a stage 3 turbine wheel the exhaust side has been bored and clipped] changed the hose from hell and changed the distributor. took it out for a drive yesterday and nothing outta the ordinary besides the boost kicking in alot sooner but that is because i think the wastegate is too closed too tight. any way the first run intercooler pipe to the TB came off so the car hesitated i fixed it went bak to the house to tighten it back up. second run the check valve to the hks bov sepperated so i put it back on and went bak to my house to check everything again. then on the third run i was backing out of my drive way and the check engine light comes on. so i parkin the car for the night. this mourning i get up and this is when i tested to see wut codes were going off and i found the code 52 so i clear the codes change the check valve on the hks bov. take it out for another test run and the CEL comes bak with the same code. the boost is comming in really hard with 15psi at 2800 and still climing so im forced to shift at 3000. take the car back to my house again i now i know that i adjusted the wastegate too tight. but im wondering what is causing that CEL fault code to come up because on the old distributor i had the cel never came up and since i changed it and the check valve came off of the bov its been come on. could it be when i was talkin off the distributor the car came out of time. because when i was takin it off i had to twist and turn it cuz the oil that had been leakin in there had kind of siezed up. so the car might be outta time so i know the rapid boost responce is the wastegate being adjusted to tight so it stays closed longer and the timing is off from when i put the distributor back on. anyone else why i could throw this CEL code.
could the knock sensor be bad and this is what will make the CEL go off or could the car be outta time so it makes the knock sensor think the engine is knocking.

J&H thanks for the quick responce i was comtemplating that or the distributor was causing the problem. question if i fix the wastegate and run around 10-12 psi which is the boost i was running b4 can i drive without the knock sensor for a day or two drivin easy until it comes in

Without a signal from the knock sensor, the ECU is going to put you in "retard mode" - your timing will be retarded.
With a blown knock sensor, the ECU is going to put you in "retard mode" - your timing will be retarded.
Your car will drive fine, but will run poorly under boost.
If you do not resolve WHY you blew the knock sensor,
you are very likely to just kill another one if you install it.
For some reason you re seeing major knock.
It very well could be your timing is off.
That knock sensor blowing SAVED your engine from blowing.
J&H another quik question.. i know u said that if u clear the codes and it comes bak the sensor is blown. but when i start up the car the CEL doesnt come on. it doesnt come on until i pass 1000 rpm. is that normal

iight i was just askin that since the sensor is dead is it normal that the check engine light doesnt come on when the car was idling.. but comes on when the car goes over 1000rpms
