Alright I am very new to this so can everyone bear with me. Im looking at ordering a toyota Mr2 stright from japan either a 91 or a 92. When i go to the site it was that the engine with the 2000cc sw20 isn't turbo. Did toyota ever make a 2,0L without the turbo and have the sw20 code?? and i was also wondering does the sw20 code me that the car is equiped with the 3sgte engine thanks alot for any input.

SW20 is the CHASIS code.
Any MR2 made from 1990-1998 will be an SW20.

If you are looking at the VIN NUMBER, then SW20 and SW22 are turbos and SW21s are non-turbos.

Toyota made the 3SGE, which is a 2.0 liter non-turbo engine that was available after '96 in the MR2 (AFAIK). It's called the Beams engine.

Alright so the 3sgte engine is only available for mr2s that are 96 and above??

No, the 3SGTE is the turbo 2.0 liter.
The 3SGE (not T in it!) is a 2.0 liter as well and it was only available in later years.
The 5SFE is the 2.2 liter non-turbo engine.
