It's alive and on the road again!

I bought my 2 in June of 2005. Shortly after that it got new suspension, calipers, master cylinder, tires and stock wheels in better shape and a bunch of other small things that amounted to a lot of work. I took it to the track in mid-August for it's first HPDE and had an absolute blast, until the oiling failed and a rod bearing fused that is.

Instead of trying to swap out the bearings and track down why the oiling failed to keep it cool enough I elected to replace the motor. We started the tear down on Friday Jan 13th and after a rather gruelling week of prep work and installation erioshi and I finally got the 5sfe into my car and turned the key on it last Thursday night.

I've put about 200 heavenly miles on it and will be getting the oil changed tomorrow. I can't tell you how much nicer it is to be driving a real car again instead of the '95 Astro road brick I had been using for the last few monthes.

I bought a tranny to install at the same time, but that just finally made it to the shop yesterday, a little late for my purposes. Guess I'll have to try and swap it in before my first track event mid-April.

Now all that's left to do with the engine is figure out why it wants to idle at 1500 rpm and give it a few oil changes between now and spring.
