need help ASAP!!! brake light gremlins!

ok, i sold my mr2 to someone a while ago and I never had a problem with the brake lights. He called me up and told me that the brake lights completely die when you press on the brake pedal. He took the car to a stealership and they checked all the fuses, they were fine, and they installed new bulbs, and the brake lights come on normal driving, but when the brake pedal is pressed ... they go out completely. I never had this problem when I had the car, so what is going on? I wanna help him out before he thinks I sold him a money pit. My car didn't give me any problems and I dont want it to give him any..

Please post if u know anything that can help...

car is a 1991 mr2 n/a 5spd

check ground. Sometimes just needs to be tighten. I would also follow the wiring. Maybe it the new owner has a dog, chances might be when a wire is stripped and hit ground the light will turn off.

See if a new stereo has been installed. You'd never believe how many wiring issues they cause.
