are there any specific vacum hoses or electrical plugs that if not connected, would not allow the car to start. there is spark and all the fuel components are within spec. there is also no computer codes.
have you checked the timing belt?? it might have snapped. if the engine turns over faster than normal... and sounds a bit higher pitched while turning over.. I'd say t-belt. any other hints\symptoms you can give us?
well, there spark going to the plugs so the t-blet isnt snaped. the jist of my troubles is pretty much this. the motor once ran... obvisously out of time but it still ran. the other night i tried timing it bit while warming the motor up, i noticed there was oil leaking from inbetween the distribuator and head. I replaced the o-ring on the distribuator shaft and put it back in. That is when the motor would not fire up. I lined up the distribuator back in the same position as i took it out, between mid and advanced all the way.
how do you know there is spark? is the spark at the correct time? did you get the dist. turned 180 degrees around?
are you getting fuel? can you hear the fuel pump run for 2 seconds when you turn the key to on? is there fuel in the car? are you getting injector pulses?

i took out the spark plug and wire and held it up to the body of the car while someone cranked it so i get visually see the spark. from what i can see, the distribuator can only go in one way because of the off set of the key. (correct)? when i have the key turned to on, i can hear the fuel pump. im not sure of injector pulse. i'v put about six gallons of 91 in since the time of it not starting. what are a certain ways of checking the neccessary fuel components?
when's the last time your fuel filter was changed? it is located on the drivers' side firewall inside the engine bay.... I think the recommendations for replacement are every 20-30k... I might be wrong, but I change mine often NOW!!
yep, i changed out fuel filters before i stock the motor in the car. i think i used a bosch filter. but the regulator, rail, and injector o-rings are still all original pieces
Is there fuel? use a 12v bulb and place it in one of the injector conectors to see if there is pulse. And this is dangerous but you should also ceck for pressure, but listen for the fuel pump first, have someone turn the ignition on and off like every 3 to 6 secons and listen for a whine.
i found it. it was the solenoid resistor plug right next to the fuel pump resistor plug. i was about to tear a hand fuel of wires out while my buddy cranked the motor and i wiggled the plug just enough to make a good connection. now it fires up every time.
