Storage space for crutches in a mk3?

I'm about an inch away from buying an mk3 MR2 Spyder, but I've got one final issue they don't talk about on the car review sites. My girlfriend uses crutches and the lack of a trunk or back seat is making me wonder where I'm going to stow them when we're in the car together.

There are two of them, each about 36 inches tall, but I read somewhere the locker behind the seats is only 30 inches long. Is it really only 30 inches? Is there any space behind the seats but outside of the locker they may fit? They are "canadian crutches", eg forearm crutches.

Please give me good news guys, this is the last hurdle!

the locker is pretty small, but you could just set them behind the seats on the floor at an angle and they should be fine. I let my G/F use my Spyder. she will be here sunday, I will measure the angle. but it's gotta be close to 45-48".
