i have a mechanic boost guage because an electronic one was too expensive at the time i bought mine.. i would love to have an electronic one.. i think the electronic one is better since you dont have to put a vacuum hose through your firewall to your cockpit. and they are pretty accurate. there are good guages out there like HKS, Apexi, Defi, Autometer and more.. most of them feature peak hold and warning points.

VDO guages come standard equipment in Porsche ... you can get a good VDO that reads boost and vac for $27 on summitracing.com.

I would not bother with an electric boost gauge.

is it gonna be a pain in the ass to run a vacum line all the way to the **** pit? would i need to worry about the line getting pinched all the time. i kinda wanna go electical but if the mechanical wont be a problem then i wont waste my money for the same performance.

I have 2 VDO mechanical boost gauges and my Blitz DSBC runs offf a vac line to the cockpit ... all three have vac lines to the interior. It is not a PITA in my opinion.

Agreed... I also have 2 vac lines running into my cabin. No issues at all... and they are ran through the center console.
