I just bought some "eccentric" guide holes for t-tops off of ebay. They have the hole off center, so it holds the guide pins and everything down tighter. Are these going to fix my leak, or no? Has anyone tried them, or a similar type thing? I'm just trying to find out ahead of time if I just wasted 20 bucks. Thanks in advance!
I am using them . It stopped leaking for about a year, then started leaking again. it's only a temporary fix-IF your tops aren't leaking too much, it will fix it for awhile. but eventually the seals will have to be replaced.
not to be rude, but you should have done it the right way the first time. Now your ttops won't close as tight as it did before you installed those wortheless pieces of crap.
where are u guys getting leaks from...i've had good success with keeping the seals lubricated to prevent leaks...i use a sealant i got from a honda dealership...haven't driven the car in heavy rain since then so i'm not sure how good it works just yet..
whats the name of that sealant? will it recondition the rubber on the t-top itself?
its called shin-etsu...i used to use vaseline but i heard that it eats away at your seals over time and hardens it in the long run so i stopped using it...trying this now...
Mine leaks where the top meets the car. Usually at the back, but sometimes at the front. I guess it depends on where the tops are oriented when they go in. It's not too bad, so I may try some of that sealent before going with new strips.
