Fire!!!

So I was driving my car and boosted until 5th gear and dead it went. So i thought it was the fuel cut, but I remeber stock fuel cut was set to 12psi. I tried to start it and it didn't start? I tried after numerous times, but nothing. I call a tow and right when they got there it started to smoke from where the ignition coil was located. Then I got it home and it was on fire!! I put it out, but what the **** is it? Help!!!

most likely had a bad ground which caused this issue -- quite common unfortunatly

if not a ground issue maybe a freak failure?

So I spoke with the insurance company and they said if it is really serious(which I cant tell right now because the hood latch is fried)they are going to have to total it. Which means I'll get more than what its worth($ wise) but not sentimentally. i put my blood, sweat and tears into this thing, which I'm sure many of you underestand. Damn if I have to total my car. I'll have some parts for sale soon. If I don't have to total the car you can expect a meaner car coming out of this.

I've tried looking for MR2's round here, but no luck. And if I'm going for another one I'm gonna get a 94-95 USDM SW20. If not I'm looking into RX7's or a Cadillac CTS, but the CTS is a little too roomy for my stubborn preference over a 2-seater. Thanks for the help guys.

That bites!

Remember, you don't necessarily just have to roll over and accept what the insurance company wants to do. If you can demontrate that their valuation information is incorrect you can haggle. Not only that, but you have the option of sending in your own estimates, don't just accept what their adjuster tells you.

If you really want to keep the car you might be able to if you fight for it.
