i knew they would be hard to come by...

for the past couple of weeks i have been searching for quality performance parts for the MKI MR2 ('87-'89). this has seemed to be a worthless battle. i have searched the net and gone from link to link, and i have ended up with little more than bushings and some FAL fans. it would be greatly aprecciated if someone could drop some links for me. i know i should probably go with the MK2, but im just to in love with the older japanese models. i tried using "search" here on the forum and im not making it out with too much.

thanks for any advice.
P.S. this is my first post....obviously

Have you checked these Sites:

twosrus.com & kbox.ca
Tell them I sent you if you contact them.

Are you aware that the 88 and 89 MR2s were available with a supercharger?
You will find more performance parts for those.

im looking to build a track car. i have been driving a '91 240sx for about 3yrs now. it was going to be my original track car, but since the drift craze blew-up (and yes i love drifting), the parts have gone beyond my price budget. im cleaning the 240sx up and getting seals, springs, bushings, and such replaced. it is going to continue to be my daily driver. i want the MK1 for SCCA and other driving events. im wanting this to be a gradual process, but im having zero luck finding any decent aftermarket parts. im actually looking at the 88-89, but im a turbo kinda guy. so if i do so it will more than likely be a NA (if i can find one ).

basically guys i want solid, hard driving performance. much like the rest of you. i want to compete and be able to have fun with the knowledge of my car being in top condition.

Welcome to the community Do you have the car yet? I you haven't had a chance to properly thrash on one yet, you'll love it.

What kind of upgrades are you looking for? Most anything can be found ...

first off...im suprised at how fast you guys are willing to assist someone! thanks alot. okay the car. no i do not have it yet, but im looking at picking one up in about 1-2 moths. i want to grab an 88 or 89 model. dont really mind if its super charged or not. id rather it be NA, but i explained that above. as far as my budget for parts, i dont really have one. i mean, i dont want to spend a mill or anything like that, but im ready to put some serious garage/money time down on building a real japanese time attack car (big dreams right?!).

Parts im looking for consist of the following:
1. Track Oriented Suspension
2. Struts/Sway Parts
3. Any engine mods until i can make for the engine swap
4. JDM wheel size reccomendation
5. Clutch/LSD/etc.

thanks again for the help guys!
(and thanks for the friendly invite, you dont get that very often on auto forums.)

hmmmm, how about this:
1. TRD or Suspension Techniques springs and High & Tight suspension bushings (check also Prothane)
2. Tokico HP (blues) not a bad strut...seriously...
sway bars...High and Tight sway bars...don't remember if they still have them available (check www.twosrus.com) or Suspension Techniques (i think you can check www.cyberauto.com)
3. just get any and all of the maintenance items taken care of (e.g.; t-belt, oil seals [cam, crank, valve cover]) spark plugs [Denso or NGK ONLY!!!], wires, cap/rotor, etc.
4. wheels are always so debate-able
5. OEM Toyota clutch/throw-out/pressure plate AND rear main seal.

lifetime alignments sound great. always having your car in excellent turning condition. i would go that often as well. im going to look into that one. seems like it would relieve some seroius car stress at times. ill figure the tires in with which wheels i plan on getting. Camber/Toe suggestions?
