SSauto Intercooler install....

Hey whats up every one... (not writing in caps... and I apologize to Mrqturbo) I recently got the intercooler from them and decided to try it out myself... I no there was a thread not too long ago about some1 waiting to install it but I havent heard anything else... (and im not patient) so I decided to just order and do it and see the results myself... It was 340 all together so this is the cheapest intercooler i can find for our cars... Everything came well packaged but I didnt get any instructions (like u really need them anyway) So the same day I got it I decided to install it... This was a friday and after wrestling with the stock IC for a couple of hours, I finally go it out and slapped the new one on... when i was finishing the install, I came to realize that I was missing a couple of things...

- 1 silicone coupler (you can reuse the TB coupler but it doesnt look too nice)
- 1 silicone reducer coupler ( i had to order one 2 in. - 1.75 in.)
- 4 clamps ( i reused the 2 from the Tb coupler and had to buy 2 more)

Now, after hearing all the cons about the product, let me tell you the good things..

-There is a noticeable difference in throttle response (not big deal)
-you cant beat the price..
-and lastly, you hear the turbine spooling when you accelerate...

If you are considering in purchasing one, I would say go ahead ( its not more than $400 and I havent had a problem since the install (except for the missing parts)

The only advice I can give u is watch the weather channel before u do install something in you car because i had to continue and finish the install the weekend it snowed like 18 inches....

what about performance? and how much difference in size is there from stock? thickness? and how well does it fit in the same spot as stock IC?

It fits like a 10 year old glove. Nice and easy. performance wise-its a pretty noticeable gain in the low to high end. Way better cooling too-made my turbo timer stay pretty much where I set it at 90sec. Alot bigger than stock IC and the thickness is the same as greddy's IC.

The cons of the kit are like he said-that there are 2 less couplers and clamps. But not that big of a deal.

Tell you the truth though-you should look into Berk Tech's IC. Truth be told it is a little pricey($500), but the quality and quantity that you get is well worth it. The IC fins are so much smaller than any on the market-so it drops temps dramatically. All couplers, fan & shroud, pipes, and I believe you get the IC shroud too. I'll try and get the web address.
