dead mr2....

ok so i am playing pool with my freind (his b day) going to a boxing match after......i am at a intersection out of nowhere my rpms start to drop so i am like ummm?!?!!? so i hit the gas revs up, so i am like ummm? ok? drops again??!?!?!? hit the gas goes up about 100 rpms then drops to 0 and dies (craziest noise ever from my intake) try to restart it barly starts up but low rpms again, hit the gas dies same way....so i wait 5 mins start it barly get home turn it off ( to see if it will restart) hasent since i am guessing my fuel filter is jammed (never checked it since i bought) or....my pump is dead was making a rattle noise on start up but always stopped after initial does any1 have any idea what they think it may be or if this has happend to them?
btw the rattle noise did signal my oil light but it would always go off so it may not be that at all
finally the little 2.2l broke on me, i knew i shouldent have pushed it with 126k miles on it

wow... that sounds very similar to what happened to me... it died on the way home so i restarted it no problem but before i got home it was making a rattling sound. i had to step on the gas pedal a bit to keep the revs from dropping and killing the engine. and then at a stop light not too far from my house the cabin started to fill with smoke and the smell of gasoline so i got out. and the engine wouldnt start at all at this point. but now a pushrod or so are broken, gasoline is in the crankcase, gasoline was pumped where oil was supposed to be and i need a new engine. i was pushing my 2.2l that had 148k miles.
