Need help super ASAP. Found a 93 MR2 turbo with right door damage and quarterpanel damage, EVERYTHING else is ok. My dad wants to get it but doesnt know how much he should pay for it. My family owns a wrecking hyard and theres an mr2 shell sitting around, so i can get it fixed pronto! I want to know how much its worth so my dad can bid on it. Please respond asap as I know you guys are teh masters.
in my case a car in that kind of condition i would probably pay 400,000 yen ($400.00) but i really dont know how the value works in america but i would say $1500
need more info=mileage, engine run?, and how well. retail value is $6,200.00 for one in excellent condition w/96000 miles on it... this will give you a baseline to figure it's worth-to you. hope this helps...hard to say from here...
Everything is in good condition except for the passenger door and quarterpanel. My dad estimated about $1100 in damages. It has 76,000 miles in good running condition. I told him between 3000 and 4000 because its at an auction, so I figure he will stop at that number (if it gets that high)
$6,200.00 is Kelly Blue Book retail Value. $2000.00 is trade in value... it all depends on the market in the specific area. and the buyer themselves and what they are willing to pay.
MR2's are getting rarer by the day! a '93 is even rarer......it's up to the individual...I guarantee if he doesn't buy it, someone else will...
Yeah, and I will never get another chance to get one because my dad hates them, so I lucked out on something that he thought I would like. I have better odds of being struck by lightning while being attacked by a shark compared to him asking if I wanted one again.
It was for sale through an insurance company via a local bodyshop (same way my brother got his '02 Si for 8k brand new) We put in an offer of $3800 and they practically told us to kiss off (the company not the shop) I dont know who is going to spend more than what we offered, especially when we found out that they lied to us (car smokes a good amount, we think its a blown HG, but we have a 3s waiting to be swapped in anyway) So, all in all, my dreams have once again been reduced to rubble over a stupid insurance company. Ive been thinking that if my pop was willing to spend $3800 plus the $1100 to get it all repaired, he might as well just spend $5000 on one with minor paint/body problems in the SoCal area, seeing as how the guy at the bodyshop fixes minor stuff for us at a discount if not free. More on my saga later.
