What An Awsome Ride!

i drove my 91t for the first time tonight. After a new rebuild and new turbo moves better than i expected. the acceleration buts my stock type r to shame.

i took out on the main road and opened her up a few times and the 4th time about 6 grand the pipe coming off the intercooler blew off. it ran like crap so i pulled over and put back on the pipe which made every thing better except... now when i hit 4 grand at wot, i hit what feels like fuel cut! isnt 4 grand a little to early for fuel cut? im using stock ecu and no boost controler. whats the prob?

Have you even broken into the engine yet? You shouldn't do that unless its broken in. You might be hitting fuel cut. It doesn't matter how high your rpm is getting. You can hit 12psi at 3500 if your gassing up enough. What you should really do is get a MBC and an accurate boost guage if you don't have that. You don't want anything bad happening to your MR2 like mine.

Read the FIRE!!!!! thread and you'll see what I mean.

modern rings only take about 10 miles to seat. here is a website that offers up some information and one side of the "break in debate".

i never really drove it before because the timing was so off, it wasnt drivable. it had at least 15 hours worth of idling time before i took it out
