wtf is the problem?

ok i was driving my car and for probably like 30 min then i was driving in 4th and just i feel my rpms go down then i stop at the stop light thinking nothing of it then i start in first and i prolly get to about 4k rpm's and it drops back down and kept doing that the only way i could drive it is if i shifted at like 2k and dident give it barly any gas

If it only happens when you mash the gas, the problem is most likely fuel related. I agree, look into the fuel filter first as that would be the cheepest/easiest thing to replace.

I had this problem when I first got my car. When you floor it... It boggs! Does the sound of the car drop pitch and rattle a little? If so, start with spark plugs(replace them if they have considerable mileage also check the gap) and then check distributer cap for debris or just replace it. It could very well be the fuel filer which is more than fun to change! Good luck

sounds like an exhaust leak..what year is your car??...i'm guessing its a turbo??...

same problem wem new

i got the exact same problem wen new, the batery cables were dirty and loose, then again with the vacum lines, and then again with the MAF cable was loose, in all 3 ocations , my engine behaive just like yours, good luck
