Yes another turbo question

I know you guys are probally sick of me asking the same questions over and over again but i have just one more. I have a friend who is selling a basically brand new t3/t4 turbo. it has 4000 miles on it and it has a one year warranty, it's been balanced and has no shaft play what so ever. Now he wants 250 for the turbo itself not including a wastegate. My MR2 has the stock ct in it and im running 16psi. I Have the koracing exhaust, fuel cut defincer, hks intake, new plugs/wires, MBC, Greddy type-s BOV, greddy side mount, soon manifold and DP, heres the question, do you guys think i would be safe to buy this turbo and bolt it on and only run 10psi for now considering my current mods?? If i were to buy this turbo i would put a tile wastegate on it, and probally the wolfcatz FPR. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK??? Thanks Alot!!!

I wouldn't do it personally. To adapt that turbo to fit your car will cost you a lot of money and trouble in the long run. By the time you are done you will have been better off keeping your $200 and going with a full kit from another company.

Not only that... but for you to properly run that turbo you would also need to look into fuel mods. Not only an FPR but rail, pump, injectors... and something to control it all. Just the fact that you would have to custom make A LOT of stuff should turn you away.

And..... PM me... let me know whats up with the DP and manifold.

I also wouldn't do it. I have a t3/t4 ball bearing turbo which I can't use because I don't have the fuel mods needed to use this turbo. Not to mention tunning to keep the engine from leaning out. Also, according to the guy from wolfcatz, the first gen 3sgte engine shouldn't boost over 10 pounds do to insufficient fuel. Leaning out sucks and an engine rebuild is expensive $$$. What Im going to do is go standalone, top fuel rail and injectors. Let us know what you end up doing and how it goes.

The only thing that will accomplish is making your car extremely laggy. Also... 10psi on a T3/T4 is going to be putting out a lot more power than 10psi on a CT26. For the amount of $ it is going to cost you to make that specific turbo fit your car... it will cost you twice what it would have to buy a ATS TD06 kit.

The flanges will fit... but keep in mind i'm going to wait to put it on until i get a new fuel system. I really want to jump on this deal because i don't think i'll ever find a turbo for this cheap. But i trust you guys.

^ The flanges will not fit. It won't even be close. CT26 has a specific flanges... it looks nothing like any other turbo. You will have to have an adapter plate built between the manifold and turbo... and you will have to have a new downpipe built. Not to mention oil feed and return lines.... possibly coolant lines if it is water cooled. The cost of the turbo is good... buy it up and sell it on eBay... haha. It is going to put you in a huge hole if you try and throw it on your car.

You will need to look into more than fuel. Intercooling, something to control the fuel system, probably a custom intake.

You should take a look at the power primer... http://mrcontrols.com/primers/power.htm... you have quite lot of power to squeeze out before you need to upgrade your turbo. Your a pretty young guy.... I don't wanna hear about you wrapping your car around a pole.
