Just got my MR2 today, Ugrade Q's

It's a '85 5 speed N/A. What motor is in this? I know it's a 1.6 right? What spec is it though? I know it has the twin cam and the manifold with the valve thing? I've only had it since 7pm. Just looking to make it run better without spending much cash. I did the intake already. What else is out there for this year? Can I find a bigger throttle body off any other toyota's? Sensor mods? Chips? How about that tiny little MAF on here, isn't there an upgrade for that? Thanks for any info you guys can give me. What I sweet little car for 600 bucks!

Welcome to the forum. I don't know much about the MKI, but there are some helpful guys on here who do. They won't do ya wrong.

Nice find, by the way! 600 for any car that runs is not bad, but to get something that's actually fun to drive is a bonus.

well you have a 4age. thats the engine code and there are to many mods to even talk about with that engine. there are many sites that have mods for this engine. well if you need more help just ask. i know of alot of places for that engine.

go to club4ag.com, www.alamomotorsports.com, i dont really no about mroc.com thing but give it a chance. but i now that the first one is good. thats a old engine so there are alot of sites for that engine. if you like to spend alot of money like me go all HKS on that ish. HKS makes alot of parts for tha engine. you can go TRD, Tom's, you are going to have to go all j-spec on that. any more questions ill get my friend who has a 86 with a 4age and a mr2 with the same engine. he should be able to help.
