Re-dynoed My Car

Just before I removed my turbo set up for my new one. I dynoed the car and this is what it made. Car was tuned with 91 octane and 17 pounds of boost. This was also with a 2.5 exhaust. It could not make any more power than this becasue of the restricted exhaust. I had a 3 inch down pipe to a 2.5 exhaust. I have now ordered a new 3 inch single titanium exhaust. I will re-dyno the car in about two weeks. I am waiting for my new exhaust system.

Graph on the 91 octane and 17 pounds of boost.

Excellent results

... why not submit your graph and mod list the official registries:
http://www.mr2ownersclub.com/mr2records/mr2records.htm

Don't forget a photo of your car.
If you have a video of the dyno pull, we will host that as well.

Ok! I will make a video of my next dyno pull. I only have pictures of the car being on the dyno. Also next time I dyno it. It will be on 100 octane and 22 pounds of boost. I purchased a new turbo set up and I have installed it in the car and ready to go. I am just waiting for my 3 inch titanium exhaust. Hopefully it will get here in the next week or so.

Here are some pictures of my new turbo set up.

MOOOOVE IT. Haha.... that is awesome. I love the car.... love the look.... love the power output. Is there any reason you choose a 3" single exit as opposed to a dual?

Yest the reason why I went with a single exhaust instead of a dual is becasue of the weight diffrence. I had the Tko 2.5 dual exhaust an it weighed over 40 pounds. The new single titanium exhaust only weight about 15 pound or so. Some one once told me that anytime you can reduce weight of your car is free horse power. I love free horse power.

But they have also proved that it would take a 4" pipe diamter on a single exit exhaust to match the flow of a 3" dual exit. I understand the weight difference... but is the power loss (if you are willing to call it that) worth the weight difference?

Where was this proved?

If the whole system is 3", I do not see how you would gain power from going from 3" to 4" somewhere long the exhaust.

Are you going to make me dig?? Haha. There was a huge thread about it on MR2OC. Either ATS or KO did it... I'm assuming KO since they would be the ones trying to sell the dual exhausts . I'll have to find it... they had dynos... and theories... and all of that good jibber jabber.

So you are saying that If I have a 3inch down pipe I need a 4 inch single exhaust not a 3 inch down pipe to a 3 inch exhaust. Is that correct?. I will find out about the power loss on a 3 inch single exhaust once I re-dyno car wit it.

I agree. I need to see the prove. I for one will have prove on the single exhaust becasue I will dyno the car on it. I have allready did it with a dual even though it was a 2.5. The only thing I can think of is that if you have 4 inch down pipe it would help the turbo spool up faster but other than that I dont really know.

When you have a wide diameter exhaust you may have HP increases but your torque curve will suffer.
