I've recently since a few mr2's on ebay that I really like. I've also heard a lot of scam nightmare's from people who's bought cars from there. Has anyone bought a car on ebay? If so, how'd it turn out?

Also, is it better and cheaper to ship a car to you or drive a thousand miles to get it?

Actually I bought my MR2 Turbo on Ebay, but I looked for one in a close state, and I went and test drove it before I bought it. It's turned out fine, minor problems, but I planned on modding it anyway. The guy I bought it from was really cool and didn't want to see it go. If you do buy off Ebay; try to find someone who actually cares for their car.

When making a purchase that big I'd use an escrow service that way both you and the seller are protected. Not only that but most scammers will freak out when you say that you want to use escrow..

If the car is in good condition and getting decent milage you will spend a LOT less driving it than you will having it shipped. I drove almost 1k miles each way to pick up my 2.
