MKII Power Windows Stoped Working

I have a 93 Turbo (55K miles!) I just got out of moth balls after 1.5 yrs of storage. Started right up, and ran great...However, my power windows, door locks, & mirror adjuster don't work. I've pulled every fuse from the kick panel, and all are good. Everything worked prior to storage.

Does anybody have an idea, or know the location of the fuse(s) that power these items?

Thanks for your reply,
Ralph

I'd check to make sure no mice or anything got into your wiring. But there's a fuse box under the hood and also one in the engine bay.

You can find the fuses in the BGB at mr2-tech.com

It's probably not the fuses though. Between the door and the chassis on the drivers side there is a little rubber tube that houses the wiring harness. This tube catches an incredible amount of water which then gets busy eroding your wiring harness. If you're capable of using a soldering iron it's pretty easy to repair. Here's a write up:

Thanks Jeff!!!!!

Jeff,

I read your reference link & started pushing on the accordian door boot as I operated the windows/ locks. It worked! Looks like a pretty involved job to fix, but at least I know it's the source of my problem.

You have saved me a ton of stress & money (was probably going to take it into the shop). I can't thank you enough!

Ralph

You're more than welcome. The job actually isn't that tough. I did it in a couple of hours on a sunny afternoon taking it easy and being careful.

Something the write up doesn't mention that I wish I had thought of while I had it out. You might want to consider very carefully poking a few holes in the tube so it can drain. The amount of water that thing holds is incredible.

Feel free to shoot me an email at gairloch@gmail.com if you have any questions.
