Downpipe

I got my manifold and downpipe tuesday . And it looks great............. so i didn't have to go to work so i decided to start taking everything apart at about 5 o'clock and i must say i have never done anything that hard in my life. But at 11 i got the downpipe on and bolted the exhaust on and took off......i noticed that my boost had increased to 18 psi and it was going like hell... i had the boost controller set at 15 so i pulled over and decided to turn the boost down to take it easy on the turbo so i turned it down to 15 again but usually i hit full boost at about 3800 and now i was hitting full boost at like 5500 and it takes all day to get there.. i have no idea what is going on. My guess is that i have a boost leak somewhere???? please help.

I talked to one of my friends who know mr2s and he said there is a lever on the turbo and if i knocked the clip off of it when i was putting the downpipe on then that would cause the lever to open at the wrong time and that would be the reason why im having boost problems.
