5sfe --> 3sgte CA smog help

Does anyone know the smog information in California for swapping to the turbo engine. Either the JDM or USDM version Will you pass smog? Any mods to be done?

The only thing that I am certain of is that the engine you are installing must be the same year or newer than the year of your car.

JDM engine is probably not ok because of no EGR.

But it all depends on who you know -- smog hookups

Im going to try to register my 3sgte motor LEGALLY on my car but you have to take it to a state referee. If these are your intentions, your car has to pass smog as an alltrac or for you mr2 guys as sw20's. Everything touring camry said was also true. Before you do this, take it to a smog check only so he won't put it on the system, see if you pass smog and then try to attempt to legalize it. If dont want to legalize the motor to your car, you need some serious hook ups which don't come cheap!
