As promised, Drifting Dane goes racing!

A few weeks ago, i made this run with a full interior and my Apexi AVCR not hooked up. This first race was a few weeks ago, against a practically stock SRT-4. I ran the 14.326, which i wasnt very happy or impressed with.

I purchased a Nitro Snell M2000 and DOT certified racing helmet, as i knew it wouldnt be long until i was hitting the 13s where a helmet is required at Gainesville Raceway. See pics:

After stripping the interior a bit (still leaving things like the glove bow, center console, and door panels) and installing my AVCR, setting it at .95 bar of boost (about 14 psi), I made this 13.822 pass against a mustang GT:

Here are some interior shots after a bit of weight reduction thus far:

Enjoy everyone! Analyze my times/trap speed/reaction/60' at will!!!!!

Dane

The drag strip is a dyno

He was putting down about 225 rwhp on that run assuming he is a typically weighted MKII.
He is actually racing a swap car, so he is probably a bit lighter ... so maybe 215-220 rwhp.

I am a little bit lighter than stock, but not by too much. I have removed

All interior carpet and sound deadening material
Passenger seat
Passenger seatbelt
spare tire
Tool kit
Carpet from the trunk

and i think thats about it... so maybe even a bit less power than that... perhaps 210-215 ponies?

I really want to be into the mid 13s... i looked on the MR2OC drag racing records (great upkeep by the way Jeff! oh yeah, on thing about that, my name is listed as Dane Vindq, it is just Dane Vind ) and there are many people making right around my power and are a good half second faster than me... i suppose i just need more practice, my 60' times are comparable though... maybe i suck at shifting?

EDIT: Keck03, no i havent dynod the car yet, i have no real reason to until i get some cams or some significant fuel upgrades, im pinching pennies here at college ><

a little OT.. but Dane, did you get nervous being in front of all the people at the track when you where getting set to do your run? I think i would be nervous and misshift or something stupid.
Doc you're an old hand at this. what about your first times doing this?

1quickmr2 - my first run was done without the boost controller, and i was shifting lazily, just concentrating on not crashing.

Russ - Correct i am running the stock ct26 and Yea i was kind of nervous, but i think that most of the people there are novices anyways, even if i do screw up they will only remember it until the next run.
