1986 auto mr2

i might buy my first mr2 real soon but the only one i have found is automatic. can someone give me some details on the auto tranny? are they 4 or 3 speed trannys?

how do auto mr2 compare to manuals in performance?

IIRC the automatic trannys are 4 speed.

As with most stock automatic transmissions the shifting is likely to be a bit slower and you will have less control over the RPM the engine is running at. How the transmission will impact you depends largely on how you want to drive it.
