Question Need some help please!!

Okay, I'm still chasing my passenger side window issues. When I press the switch to lower the window, the driver's side door locks. (usually, not every single time) We've got a few leads, but I need some help.

Where is the window motor grounded? Is it directly to the door, with a wire to the door, or somewhere else?

Where in the crap is the Power Main Relay?? In the BGB, it doesn't say where it is. We think that if it's bad, it might be the culprit, but we have to find it first.

This is the diagram.

Does anyone have any other things to look for? I would REALLY appreciate some help on this. As always, thanks in advance.

Andy.

Did you ever check out the wiring harness that runs through to the drivers door? I don't know if you've caught this but there's a rubber boot that is supposed to protect that harness between the chassis and the door. What it really does is trap a surprising amount of water and holds it so your harness gets corroded and eventually fails in strange manners.

This harness impacts the locks and the windows for both sides.

Here's a write up on how to fix it: http://stephenmason.com/cars/mr2doorwire.html

One thing you might want to consider doing that isn't in the write up is to put some holes in the bottom of the boot so water can drain out. Be very careful to not tear wiring insulation if you do this.

That part looks like brand new, but I'll check it out anyway. It feels really well connected on both ends, and the rubber isn't brittle at all, but you never know.

Any other suggestions? This damn thing hasn't worked for 2 years and I really want to get it fixed. Thanks!

The water doesn't get in through cracks, it gets in through the ends of the boot. The boot on mine was perfectly supple when I took it out.
