pretty much i was driving my mr2 and the hood doesnt really latch well and the hood came up and broke the wind shield. i already had the windshield fixed but my problem is getting the hood latches do bend back so i can put the hood back on. has anyone every had this problem? is it easier to by new ones, take it to the body shop, or do it myself.

OEM latches are pretty strong....are u sure it was fully closed??....did you have any problems with it before this happened....i don't think i've ever read about an OEM hood coming up...most occur with carbon fibre hoods and no hood pins.....

i'm ALMOST 90% sure it was closed all the way. I'v had more of a problem with the hood locking mechanism than anything. sometimes i would have to push on the hood like six times before i would hear the CLICK sound.

does anyone know where i can buy some oem hood latches?

You could probably find some working latches sold by someone parting their car if you want to go the budget route. If you want new I would check with partznet.com and rockauto.com.

In the meantime you could shoot some penetrating oil like PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench in there to help free up the mechanism.
