It means that 2 of your cylinders exhaust into one whole of the manifold and the other two exhaust into another hole. Basically there are two ports coming off the manifold into the turbo?

Why does this matter?

By combining pairs of cyilnders you can better keep a constant pules on the turbo.
It helps get the turbo spoooled up.

after upgradeing the turbo, do most peeps stay with the "twin entry" or go with a normal manifold.

Most aftermarket turbos are not twin entry. (in fact, i dont think i have ever seen one that is) These people either need to get an adaptor for the stock exhaust manifold, or get a new one (many times they come with the turbos, sold as kits).

Some Garrett turbos (such as GT42-2, TO4E/T66 hybrid) have twin entry turbine housing. They call it split pulse exhaust housing or twin scroll. But yes, most are single entry.

HKS also makes a few twin entry turbos. I can't recall the names.

Hmm

Actually... I might be wrong here, however I believe that the intake plays into effect when I say that twin entry turbo stands for the actuators that open up at two different intervals, and thus helps the Mk2 have good low end torque at lower rpm's and better HP at highher RPM's.... same thing that Jeckyl said, but in a different format... this is what I believe it is, plus thats where the Twin entry turbo sigma is located... on the intake.
Am I right Hyde.... Jeckyl??? I h8 giving false info

Sorry, but that is not correct. Twin-entry turbo refers to what I explained in post #2.

What you are talking about is the TVIS which prevents air from entering 1/2 of the intake valves on the engine at lower RPMS and then opens up fully at higher RPMs. The TVIS feature has nothing to do with the turbo.
