Need window help ASAP!! Please!!

I recently bought a 91 mr2, and just my luck, not even 30 minutes after driving it the passenger window decides to not roll up. I take it home and tear the door panel off checking for any loose or cut wires, checking if the window would roll up every now and then. Out of no where it goes up down up half way down. I went over everything again and it wouldn't budge, the motor doesn't even make any sound. I get pissed and go to bed, wake up the next morning and it rolls up just fine. All day while driving I would press the switch to see if it would work, I got it to roll down once again, but it's stuck there. After a lot of searching I read that water gets in the line of wire running from the cabin to the door, so I tore it all out on both sides to find water in the driver side. Clean it all out, check the wires and everything is good, try the window and nothing. It's been almost a week now that I haven't been able to roll my window up and with my subs right behind my seats it really scares me. Does anyone know what it could possibly be? I'm thinking the motor was on its last leg and gave out, main switch is bad, or it's possibly a relay. I've heard the windows on MR2s are notorious for problems, and was hoping you guys could shed some light here. I have yet to check for resistance in the wires, but thats on my list.

BTW- the passenger switch would not control the window at all, and it is not the window lock/unlock switch either.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to my hell, dude. I've been chasing the same problem for a long time now. My best bet is a bad switch or faulty relay somewhere, cause all my wiring is fine. If you figure it out, be sure to post back on here so I can fix mine. Good luck!!

Andy.

This is a really common issue. The problem is likely NOT on the passenger side.

Andy did you ever get around to pulling that boot back and checking out the wiring?

I checked it really quick and it looks okay, but I didn't get a real good look yet. I'm tearing it apart next weekend, I guess.
