2nd Generation Ignition Timing

I own a 93 na mr2 and i was planning on running 92 octane so that i can advance the ignition timing 3 or 4 degrees and gain a little more top end. I was just wondering where cylinder number one is wether its the one closest to the timing belt or the distributer. Any help is greatly appreciated.
