Gen1 Very sliggish? Pressed Reg Button

88 mr2 automatic witha NST SC pulley

Just recently i put in regular gas (cuz the gas prices, b4 i always put in prem) and presseg the button for Reg fuel, so im driving and i press the gas to pass someone but my car doesnt go anywhere

it doesnt move any faster, you can kinda hear the engine running harder, RPMS dont change, and it feels like its trying to go faster but just cant, after a while (like 10 seconds or so) it will finally catch and then my supercharger will kick in and i blast off,

Does anyone know what would cause this?

i switched my button back to prem and its still doing it, but not as bad at all

ive noticed its really bad under 3k rpm and i do not have a grunt box

help

Are you running some kind of after market e ngine management that allows you to switch fuel maps or is this a MkI feature that I've never heard of?

Is your car detonating with the regular fuel after you "switched the button" back to premium?

That button is probably adding or pulling timing to compensate for the absence or presence of octane.

Super chargers don't "kick in"; they are forcing induction 100% of the time. If you're hitting the throttle and the engines response is delayed something else is going on.

Have you switched back to a premium fuel or do you still have the regular unleaded in there?
