What slides out? How do I get it out? I was told that I need to remove it to mail down and be installed in my car... but I have no idea what I'm doing! haha

the entire unit slides out... once you get that 12mm bolt that holds the piece of metal in it slides out..... you can get more leverage if you leave the speedo cable on it
