MR2 (2000+) Bodykit Possibilities (feedback wanted!)

Hi Toyota MR2 fans!

I’m an automotive designer (www.GryphonAuto.com) & I was thinking of designing a body-kit for the Toyota MR2 (2000+). The MR2 is a beautiful car and surprisingly inexpensive compared to others of similar style. It also matches the style I enjoy designing most – exotic curvaceous beauties.I would love for the first project that I intend to produce to look like a super-car & the MR2 would be a perfect starting point!

Before I get started, I wanted to know if there is a market for MR2 bodykits. Also, I’d like to know whether people are more interested in regular kits (cheaper) or widebody kits (wider + more design options). I’d also like to know if people like my style of work, (www.GryphonAuto.com) or would prefer a different style of body-kit. I’m interested in all opinions, I greatly respect the opinions of automotive fans (more than other “designers”).

I did check out what MR2 kits are available and was extremely unimpressed. I liked the vielside one, but it doesn’t make much sense to make a sleek curvaceous sports car into an aggressive monster. Most of the rest were boring, ricey, or . . . let’s just say a car like the MR2 deserves 100x more respect.

So, lay it on me, anything you want to say about MR2 (2000-now) bodykits or my work!

- Jon

P.S. I tried working with companies in the past, but I recently decided to just save my own money and pay for production myself. It’ll be at least a year before I could start production, but it’s not too early to start some research.

Below are some pictures of my design work . . .

Enigma III (MR2 could easily look something like this)

Custom Corvette C6

Predator (one of my old designs)

Thanks for the compliment!

I don't have anything in production yet, those are all computer-models. I'll try to explain this in as few words as possible...

I have tried to work with existing bodykits companies, but the majority (85% to 95%) have little respect for designs or designers, and have extremely shady business practices. I eventually got tired of people trying to rip me off & discovered that the production costs aren't nearly as high as I originally thought. So, I'm working towards saving enough money to produce my first project. You can't really depend on anyone to help you reach your dreams & sometimes doing it yourself is 100x easier.
