Some advice for me please

Hi all
I just recently bought an MR2 MKI 1988 N/A for a good price. Im interested in building a custom turbo so I bought this car just for the experience, but im new to the MR2 engine so now i am a bit confused. First, its very hard to find parts for the 1988 mr2, especially the fuel injector and downpipe for turbo set up. I've heard I can get injectors from supras and it will work but I dont know from what year supra. Im guessing i will have to do a custom downpipe for the turbo, because i cant find any yet. And what injector should I look for (440cc maybe?). Im planning to replace stock with ARIAS pistons and still looking for some good rods (another hard to find).

Also, the 4age engine seems so compact inside the car, im wondering if I can even fit a turbo in there. Thanks for any input guys, if you have any other advice feel free to share them.

Several people have put turbos on them ... several others even dropped in the 3SGTE engine (turbo engine from the MK2 MR2). Check out www.mr2oc.com. Lots of good info on there.

I am in the planning process of that exact same project. I was looking to use a garrett t25 (or gt25, not really sure about the differences) at around 8 to 10 psi. The 4agze motors have a stronger crank and connecting rods, which i am going to be using. These should be strong enough since the stock supercharger of a 4agze motor put out around 8 psi. I'm sure you could even use the injectors from a 4agze motor, once again because of the similarities in boost. As for pistons, my father (a skilled machinist) and I were planning to possibly machine the tops of the pistons to reduce the compression ratio, or if i can get my hands on the stock supercharger pistons, those would probably work too. Next, i was going to cut and weld a stock exhaust manifold, turning it into a turbo manifold. Water and oil lines will be easy to run. As for the fuel system, i'm looking for a Greddy E-manage system. I was also researching the megasquirt systems, but these seem pretty confusing to set up. Hope some of this helps! If you need any parts, i may be able to help you come up with some! Thanks a lot!
