All Around Help..

What's up guys. I'm new the forums. Nice to meet all of you. Here's my dilemma..

I have a 1992 N/A MR2 and i've been auto crossing ALOT lately in the hills with everything stock but now i think it's time to spoil her, so i was wondering from everyone. What type of suspension, engine, tires, and anything else should i look to if i was going to auto cross and tackle turns. . any help or advice would really be appreciated. Thanks Again!

for someone using their 2 correctly!

Engine: LATE model 3SGE or the blasphemous v6 swap. A 3rd gen 3sgte isn't out of the question though but I've wanted a stripped MR2 w/200HP 3sge for a long time.

Suspension: New bushings w/coilover system. Camber adjustment if not on it, that's a good start. Anything you can do to stiffen the chassis.

Tires: people seem to love the Kuhmo's and Falken's for price/performance. Also Toyo.

Short shifter, LSD, flush your radiator & pipes. (remove rad and flush/test) kirkasaurus motor mounts, 94/95 spoiler (light), STRIP IT!!!

Tanabe has a good rep. Also Tien is a fav but any reputable company should be good, just stay away from the low priced crap, they're basicaly a sleeved system. You should base it on just how rough you want your ride and go from there. (stiffer also means you'll have to be a smoother driver and increase your reaction time)

No matter what you do, the best thing possible for your track use would be a LSD. I'm actually looking to get an n/a and do a lil suspension and LSD, go out and rock the streets, umm track.

When evaluating your plan for a performance vehicle the thing to keep in mind is which change is going to have the largest impact.

Unless your suspension is something other then stock you'll get more out of suspension then you will out of LSD. What specifically you get into should be dictated by your circumstances; budget, desire for handling characteristics, availability and so on.

The suspension forum on mr2oc.com is a good place to start researching.

Something else to take into consideration is what kind of upgrades are you allowed by classing? Make sure that your plan takes that into consideration or you might find yourself bumped into a class you're not competitive in.
