3rd Generation

I used this certain product and welded my hood shut! WTH was that stuff called... It was a TV commercial that said it. Even funnier that I met someone that used it that way, jeez.

I love castrol GTX for regualr oil (and clean-up oil in the 2) but purple and M1 are the comfort foods of my 3S. I live in an area where temps differ from 30 - 98 pretty regularly so I stay at 10-30.

Don't know about Amsoil, is that one that claims 100,000 mile changes? I really don't see how any of that is possible, heat and contact break oils down and eat up the creamy center, it would be pretty amazing stuff to overcome that! Anyway, an oil change gives you a reason to slide under the car and take a look at every (beautiful) thing, don't take that away from me!

^^ that is the only reason I'm not using it. My motor consumes an amazing amount of oil, especially on the race track. I've already gone through ~$160 worth of synthetics since this spring.

Lol, I'm not using synthetic. That's Castrol 10w40 dyno-oil. That's why i change it so often. The previous owners didn't use synthetic, so I'm not goin to switch and risk a few seals going out.

i was worried myself when i switched to synthetic on my swapped car. the first 2-3 oil changes i noticed some oil loss. not bad but noticeable. on regular oil none was lost. but after the third synthetic oil change it basically leveled out and now the loss is basically negligeable. just my $0.02.
