I am thinking of selling Mr Mr2 its a 1993 turbo I am the second owner and the car has never been wrecked has a clean title on it. The milage say's 106,00 but the motor was build at 100,00 miles. It's a 430 WHP daily driver. The car can make more power with a better inter-cooler. Do you guys think I can get $24,000 for it. I have spent allot more than this on the car. Way more?. What do you guys think.
Nice car bro. I can honestly say you won't get over 13 or 14k, the only thing that raises the value of an MR2 is a low mileage, unmodded model. The big 'but' is, if you wait long enough, you may find that one buyer that is highly interested in having '400 HP' and will be willing to pay extra. But it won't be 24k or even close, I've seen 2 MR2's sell for that. One was the most popular and documented 350rwhp MR2 ever and the other was one with around 3k original miles. (past 6 or so years)
For all the $$ and mods you've put into the car, you may get 3-4k more than if it were completely stock. Don't give it away though, sell it for what you beleive it's worth. Or better yet, enjoy it!
Damn! I can't beleive you're gonna sell your 2..Why may I ask?
And I hate to say it, but CentralPower is prolly right, you won't get anything near what you're asking. Of course, we all know how much you've put into the car and how well it runs. Only an MR2 enthusiast would or could appreciate it. but you never know...Someone who wants one already "Built" may take it... I do hope you get close to what you are asking...best of luck!

Yes I am selling Mr2 for $20,000 430 WHP daily driver. The car is in outstanding condition. Anybody who is intrested is Welcome to come and drive it. The motor only has 6000 miles on it the chasis has 104 thousand miles on it. If I dont get 20,000 for It I will part out all the motor parts put in a new stock motor and sell the car with a stock 3sgte motor in it The reason why I am selling it is becasue I am starting a business. Sorry for the late reply I am just very busy trying to open up a business and it's taking up all my time right now. If all goes well my business will be open next year 2007 around June or July I have all the recipts for the car and parts I have purchased.
Parts that I would be seeling of the motor
Chris-K bad boy motor 2.0 $4,900 I paid over $7,000 for it it will includ the head and block. See my car domain page to see what the motor and head consist of. The motor revs to 9000 RPMS.
Garrett Gt30 dual ball bearing turbo $1,700
Garrett GT30 ball bearing turbo with .70 compressor A/R and .82 turbine A/R with Custom thermal coating tubular manifold and tail 46mm wastegate. Thermal coating dump tube routed back into the 3 inch thermal coated down pipe with flex tube. Steel braided oil lines and water lines. See my car domain page for pictures
That thing is pretty on the outside! Is it the rare tropical blue? And that turbo/mani, a beast!
I have some positive experienced criticism if you like.
MR2 guys who want the kind of power you're offering will want to build it theirselves 90% of the time. Not to mention needing to do so.
I have a few points that will give you a chance at what you're wanting out of the car. First, change the tails and wing to 95+, makes the entire car look better. A small investment to finish off the outside and give it a newer, smoother look. (a $20,000+ look) No one wants a $20,000 500hp mr2 that looks like everyone's 91' N/A. I promise you the tails and wing give you at least 35% better chance of a higher $ sale.
And is the interior sun faded? Blue? I can't really tell but the steering wheel cover and carpet on dash are horrible.
Now for the important part. You need to put a sale sign on it and DRIVE her everywhere. Also post for sale ads at your local speed/tune shops with pics and specs. This car is highly appealing to anyone not in the mr2 scene. You have to remember the first time you saw one, it's a striking design.
All that said, starting a business? This seems like a great way to advertise! Like a traveling billboard, these cars draw looks more than a supermodel walking down the way. Use it!

Thank you for the advice The reason why I wanted the car to look the way it does in the outside is because I wanted the sleeper look. You should see the look on the Z06 vetts and Viper guys when I go pass them. (he,he). The interior is in outstanding condition the car is allways garaged when is not being driven no sun faded and the carpets look brand new. The steering wheel cover is to protect the leather on the steering wheel if you remove the cover of of it it looks practacly brand new. The carpet on the dash is to protect the dash. I will remove it and take a picture of it and you will see it looks brand new no holes or tears on it. I will certainly try you advice tho. Any one that is serious about the car is more than welcome to come an drive it. Also the car was built to perfection with Ricky-B and Chris-k. Dont get me wrong I love this car and every where I go I get compliments on it especially on the color. I really appriciate your input and I will certainly try your advice.

I'm sick about it....But I do understand...Good luck with the sale...BTW, why type business are you going into?
I am going to open up my own shop selling hoses clamps I am going to have a 4 wheel dyno and I am going to do smog. I am also going to be a state referee for smog. Here in the bay are there is like one state referee and there is a couple of weeks waiting for state referee smog for people who get sent to the state referee. My shop will have regular somg certification also and I'm going to school right now to get a state certificate to be able to get a licence to be a state referee. I will start with just smog and selling hoses, clamps, bolts, and doing smog certification and dynoing cars only no tunning yet until my business gets going.
Smart move! and guaranteed market...I hope you'll keep us informed on your progress...It's a great idea.. I wish I could do that here, but we don't even have to pass any smog here. Not even a safety inspection...
You are a bad person! Your car is goregous. Good luck with the sale. Try and keep it in the community!!! I hate to see this car get sold.
Thank you for the compliment. I will try to keep it in the community but there is a guy that owns a viper that I raced and beat that is intrested in it car.

Wow! no smog! Here every two years you have to smog your car and if you get citated by an officer and sends you to the state referee you have to wait at least a couple of weeks for an appointment. Once I get going I will also sell turbo kits exhust's systems and so forth and will also have poweder coating and chrome plateing just to mention a few things but not until my shops gets going first. All the legal mombo jumbo I am going through right now is a pain not to mention going to school. So I am very busy right now.
oh yeah, this is a rural state and trucks are the main deal here. Guys running dual glass packs and such.. very loud.. It would never pass in Cali. ,Tires extending 6 inches to a foot outside the fender wells. just about anything goes here...
But I think you have made a good decision about the line of business your going into. I was self employed for over 6 yrs as a chef. I tell you though, the government has always got it's hand out. They will find ways to tax you to death..they are really hard on the food industry. but I don't think you'll have near the hassle.. just remember, niether the FBI or the Police could bring down Al Capone--but the IRS did! they are powerfull beyond belief I was "fortunate" enough to be audited. they told me I owed them $17,000.00 + interest.. -Which I paid in 1 year....ugh...I wish I could buy your car... but I'm strapped right now. A year ago I could've paid you cash....but things change..anyway, Good luck!

Lol.. The Irs can bring down anybody. My car is up for sale and I am not advertising it really becasue I am going to be picky about who I sell it to. My car is in outstanding codition and is well taken care of. Has the best parts money can buy and I would hate to sell it to some one who will wreck it. I dont care how long it takes me to sell it because I want it to go to the right person. The car is imaculant condition including the paint still looks like it just came out of the show room. Every time I drive the car I get compliments on it no matter where I go. I even got a compliment from a police officer when I was at a stop light. He rolled down his window and he said Wow! That's a very nice car.
You're a stronger person than me. I can't bear the thought of parting with my 170,000 mile, sun-faded, clear coat peeling non-turbo! I can't imagine getting rid of a gem like yours. Good luck on your business. Hope everything works out for you!
