Arrow 91 NA TPS + accelerator question

Does anyone know if the TPS can be changed on the car w/o removing
the throttle body? - it looks like you would have to drain the coolant and crap and I dont want to do that (just did it!)

Second, does anyone know the correct method for adjusting the accelerator cable? it seems to have a bit too much slack right at the throttle body...

thanks guys!

You can get the TPS off without taking the throttle body loose if the screws holding it in place are loose. If they fight you at all you'll have to take it off as they round easily.

You don't have to completely drain the coolant system to take the TB off, just a little bit. Worst case scenario is that you don't take enough out and when you pull those hoses off you spill some coolant.

There are two nuts at the end of the throttle cable close to the end of it that hold it in place. You tighten the cable by loosening the one on the side you want to move it towards and tightening the other.

ok cool.

I think if I find the right phillips screwdriver...I should be ok. I have 2-1/2" of room between the top of the screw head and the engine compartment wall.

Now I am on a mission to find the right tool......

maybe a 1/4" socket driver with a phillips end...

Just be careful not to round 'em out.

On all of the TBs I've worked on I've had to loosen those screws with a needle nose vice-grip.

That hose is a coolant line. If you have to get a vise grip on the bottom screw especially I think you're stuck with taking the throttle body off.
