XS Power SMIC Install

Oh how a new found hate has formed towards that stock intercooler of the MKII . removing it was a real challenge, getting everything loose is the easy part until it gets time to remove the intercooler bracket at the bottom of the intercooler. it took me about 15 minutes for the bracket alone with a 10mm wrench with wrists angled in extreme positions. once that has been removed u can just pull it right out.

the kit itself was easy to install, u just try doing it by candle light and dying flashlight batteries when the electricity cuts out like i had to lol. power wise its a noticeable improvement, boost feels much more efficient and constant, makes the car sound a little livlier aswell. and with a new 6 puck ogura racing clutch i'm a happy man! i shall post pics later tonight.

impatient?

i once did that but it was installing engine mounts on a miata. alcohol took care of the reasonable objectionsto start it late in the day. i remember at one point the engine was lifted off the frame and us realizing it was too dark to see the piles of bolts laying around.

luckily it was not my car.

Are you using any sort of fan? Or just running it as is?

there's a reason why i upgraded to the Spearco IC before i put my new engine in. i helped a friend R&R his stock IC, and never really want to do it again with the engine in.

I didn't have any trouble pulling mine out. My turbo was out... but I don't think that really gets in the way.
